Rose Hubbard
“I am a landscape painter but the land, per se, is not the focus of my art. My inspiration derives instead from an area just above the land; that beautiful, mysterious line where the earth meets the sky, where the two seem to melt together into a gauzy mist. It is this evocative area that drives my desire to create.
Experimenting in various mediums over the years has led me to work almost exclusively in oils today. My substrates can vary from linen, wood, Mylar or copper but I have found the blending qualities of oil paint to be the most conducive in capturing the quiet, ethereal moods I observe in nature.”
